Virtual Development
Miles are only a measurement of distance. We believe great ideas can span distance.
In order to leave no new play undiscovered, we have created a unique process which embraces technology- Virtual Development.
Our virtual process allows us to develop remotely. Anywhere in the country, WE CAN BE THERE!!
Through web-cam meetings, email correspondence, IM's, and conference calls, our personal attention to each individual play and writer will make you feel as if we're all lounging on the beach together talkin' about playwriting.
For more information on the virtual development of your play, check out our Script Incubatorpage.
The Conduit Campaign is comprised of individuals from every facet of society who share an expressed interest in the subject matter of new stories being told in the theatre. They are the support system for new work. Their level of support is not financial; their support is as varied as their backgrounds...

We're looking for previously un-produced work. We're looking for scripts that are "in process". We want un-finished work. We want that unwieldy play that you're struggling with. The one you're trying to polish and make perfect! That's the kind of challenge we're looking for.
Here's how this runs:
•Playwrights submit 10pg dialogue sample.
•Upon review, we will request the full script.
•If script is right for all parties involved, we'll begin the virtual development process
•Finally, an invitation for an expense paid weekend in South Florida
for a final presentation of developed work.
For questions, please email incubator_sofloplaywrights.com
Incubator Guidelines.pdf
Benefits include:
Play Dates
A play needs personal attention- and it oughta be fun. So we'll give it to you. Submit up to 3 scripts per year. With each submission, you get a one-on-one feedback session. You can meet at a coffee shop, a bar, a theatre, whatever.
Go Public Series
Without an audience, there's no theatre. How 'bout a rehearsed public reading of your newest play? Invite anyone you want. The doors are open. We will organize the whole thing- rehearsals, space, a director, actors, and script copies. We'll even toss in a moderated audience feedback session at the conclusion.
F.L.A. Confidential
Sometimes you just gotta hear the damn play out loud. But you don't need an audience- just an informal read- just a table, some chairs, actors, and scripts. No rehearsals, no direction. Simple. We can do that. Your own private reading is our command. We'll set it up.
Instant Theatre
Alright, this one is awesome. Once a month, 8 writers get a theme and a writer's challenge. They have one week to write a 5 minute piece based on the given criteria. We give 'em actors. Then they all come together for a 2 hour event. First hour is rehearsal, next hour is performance for an audience. It's kinda raw, its kinda SNL, its instant, and yes, it's theatre.
And we got other stuff in the works
•10-minute Workshop
•Tell-A-Novella Series
•Rant Emails
Other benefits:
•Playwrights' Alliance Meetings
•Discount admission to local area performances
•Playwright promotion
•Free copying of all scripts needed for programs
•Free talent coordination
•Free space coordination

Playwrights' Alliance
Alliance. Sounds cool, right?
Makes me think of Spartans crouched down doing one of those turtle shell defense things with their shields. Standing together. Unified. Deflecting arrows.
Makes me think of countries bound together. On the front lines. Allied for a common cause.
Band together with us. The Playwrights' Alliance. With numbers, no one can break us.
